Mower Removal is a local lead-collection service based in McHenry County, Illinois. We run a simple website that lets you request a free pickup of your old riding lawn mower. This page explains in plain English what we do with the information you share when you use the site or call the number on it.

Who we are

Mower Removal is operated by Nick Militello. You can reach a human directly at 815-701-4488 or by email at hello@mowerremoval.com. There is no parent company, no data broker behind the curtain. It is a one-person operation that routes pickup jobs to trusted local haulers.

What we collect when you fill out the form

The pickup-request form asks for four things: your name, your phone number, the town you are in, and a short description of the mower. You can also attach an optional photo. That is the entire list. We do not ask for your address until we talk to you on the phone, and we do not ask for any payment information ever, because the pickup is free to you.

How we use what you share

Your submission is saved in a private database on our web server and emailed and texted to Nick so he can call you back, usually the same day. If your mower is a fit for one of our pickup partners, we share your name, phone number, town, and machine description with that partner so they can schedule the pickup. We do not sell your information, we do not add you to a marketing list, and we do not share it with anyone outside of Mower Removal and the specific partner assigned to your job.

Photos

If you attach a photo, it is stored on our server in a folder that is not directly accessible from the web. Only the Mower Removal admin dashboard can view it, and only the pickup partner assigned to your job will receive a copy. Photos are kept for as long as the lead is active and then deleted on request.

Cookies and the Meta Pixel

This site uses a small piece of code called the Meta Pixel (provided by Meta Platforms, which runs Facebook and Instagram). The Pixel drops a cookie in your browser so that if you came from a Facebook or Instagram ad, Meta can tell us the ad worked. It also lets us show follow-up ads to people who visited the site but did not fill out the form. The Pixel does not read your form contents. It only tells Meta that a page was viewed or that a lead was submitted. If you do not want this, most browsers let you block third-party cookies, or you can use an ad blocker.

Text messages and phone calls

When you submit the form, Nick gets a text message with your info so he can call you back quickly. If you call the number on the site, standard phone-carrier call-logging applies. We do not record calls. If Nick texts you about your pickup, you can reply STOP at any time and he will stop texting.

How long we keep your information

Active leads and completed jobs are kept in our database for up to two years so we can follow up if you have a second mower, a neighbor who needs a pickup, or a question about the one we already took. If you want your record deleted sooner, email hello@mowerremoval.com and we will remove it within seven days.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS, the admin dashboard is password-protected, and the database and photo folder are not directly reachable from the public internet. We are a small operation, so we do not pretend to have bank-grade security, but we take reasonable steps to keep your name and phone number out of the wrong hands.

Children

This site is intended for adults disposing of their own property. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. Material changes will also be posted on the homepage for a couple of weeks.
